Burial

Burial Vaults
A burial chamber. A prefabricated container usually made of metal or concrete into which a casket is placed at burial. The term vault denotes a level of protection against outside elements.
Carillon
A set of fixed chromatically tuned bells sounded by hammers controlled from a keyboard. Usually housed in a bell tower of some type.
Columbaria/Columbarium
A structure of niches lined with recesses for placement of cremation urns.
Cremains
Another word for cremated remains (ashes) of a human body.
Cremation
To reduce to ashes by burning.
Entombment
The act of placing the casket into a mausoleum crypt.
Genealogical
An account of the descent of a person, family or group from an ancestor. The study of family pedigrees.
Interment/Interred
The act or ceremony of interring. To deposit a dead body in the earth or a tomb.

To place as cremated remains in an urn.
Lawn Crypts
A double-tiered burial vault located entirely underground and intended to house two caskets in one space.
Mausoleum
A large tomb. Usually a stone building with places for entombment of the dead above ground.
Niche(s)
A recess(es) in the columbaria wall for placement of cremains.

The careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.
